Metroid Prime

(Warning: Spoilers for an old game follow)

Metroid Prime was a regular metroid, that became exposed to large amounts of Phazon, thus mutating it into a strange form.

It lived in Tallon IV's impact crater from the phazon meteor that brought it there in the first place, until Samus opened the passage down to the crater and destroyed it.

Metroid Prime's forms:

Exoskeletal form:

In this form, Metroid prime has a carapace that is invulnrable to all of Samus' attacks, excluding it's head. It also changes the colour of certain lines on it's surface, and it becomes vulnrable to that form of attack only (Yellow=Power beam, Purple=Wave beam, White=Ice beam and Red=Plasma beam). Once it has suffered enough damage, it eventually falls down a large pit, where Samus discovers it's not dead yet;

Core form:

This is Metroid Prime's core essence, what it became when it was mutated originally. It has a limited number of attacks.

It's main form of asault is a shockwave it send across the arena, this causes moderate damage, nothing major to worry about.

It can also spawn metroids of different forms, creating a puddle of phazon and rendering it invisible to all but one of Samus' visors. Samus must use these puddles of pure phazon to fuel her arm cannon and cause it to enter 'hyper mode' where she blasts phazon at metroid prime, which is the only thing that harms it (Since Samus has no ready access to Premier Cola at the time). Once she overloads Metroid prime enough, it reverts to a strange form, and it attacks Samus, stealing her Phazon suit.

If you managed to get 100% in Metroid prime, you will be treated to an extra scene in the credits;

When Metroid prime exploded after taking Samus' Phazon suit, all that remains of it is a bubble of Phazon. It is from this bubble that a hand that looks eerily similar to Samus' Phazon suit bursts out. Metroid Prime has been reborn as what would become known as Dark Samus.

Other non-game things about Metroid Prime:

The forumer Phazon Addict's character was Metroid Prime at some point, but he hadn't registered on the forum with his character as Metroid Prime, his 'first character' was Dark Samus, which he promptly changed to not only be slightly original, but to avoid having a female charcter.
